Strategic Capacity Target: Set a business expansion goal to increase the total generating capacity to 2,000 megawatts.
Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony: Held the foundation stone laying ceremony for the “Dan Khun Thot Wind One” (DKT1) wind power plant project—with an installed capacity of 89.7 megawatts—in Thepharak District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, on June 30, 2026. The project is targeted to achieve Commercial Operation Date (COD) as scheduled in 2027.
Key Milestone: DKT1 is one of four new renewable energy power plant projects scheduled for Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) between 2027 and 2029, marking the initial step toward reaching the 2,000-megawatt total capacity goal.
2023 – 2024: Achieving the 1,000 MW Milestone
1,000 MW Target Reached: Successfully achieved a total generating capacity exceeding 1,000 megawatts.
Awarded 4 New Power Projects: Selected as an electricity producer and distributor for 4 projects with a combined contracted capacity of 299.1 megawatts:
2024: “Bamnet Narong” Wind Power Project (Capacity: 89.7 MW)
Adopting International Standards: Implemented globally recognized carbon credit certification standards, including Gold Standard and Verra (VCS), across company projects.
Renewable Energy Certification: Adopted the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) standard for the projects.
2018 – 2019: Thailand’s Largest Wind Power Producer — Major Success with the Operation of 5 Wind Power Plants
Significant Breakthrough (2018): Achieved a major milestone for both the organization and Thailand’s wind energy industry through the successful construction, development, and Commercial Operation Date (COD) commencement of 4 wind power projects with a total installed capacity of 360 megawatts:
T1 Wind Power Plant (Capacity: 90 MW)
T2 Wind Power Plant (Capacity: 90 MW)
T3 Wind Power Plant (Capacity: 90 MW)
NKS Wind Power Plant (Capacity: 90 MW)
Commercial Operation of T4 Project (2019): The 90 MW “T4” Wind Power Project—WEH’s 8th wind power plant—successfully achieved Commercial Operation Date (COD) on schedule.
Capacity Growth: Total installed capacity expanded to 717 megawatts across 8 onshore wind power projects located in Nakhon Ratchasima and Chaiyaphum provinces.
2009 – 2016: The Beginning — Thailand’s First Wind Power Plant
Establishment (2009): Wind Energy Holding Co., Ltd. (WEH) was officially incorporated.
Thailand’s First Wind Power Plant (2012): Successfully achieved Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the “West Huaybong 3” (FKW) Wind Power Project with an installed capacity of 103.5 megawatts—marking the first utility-scale wind power plant in Thailand, located in Dan Khun Thot District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
Expanding Capacity (2013): The “West Huaybong 2” (KR2) Wind Power Project with an installed capacity of 103.5 megawatts commenced commercial operations and began feeding electricity into the grid.
Continued Operation (2016): Successfully constructed, developed, and commercialized the “WTB” Wind Power Project with a capacity of 60 megawatts, officially connecting to the grid.
